Today we had another exciting day in the field. It was freezing cold, but we survived. So far, from the first two sample days, we have not seen that much difference in sediment load between Harkers Run and Collins Run. We may find in today's samples there may have been more of a difference due to yesterdays' rain. The water appeared to be more turbid. Also, Thursday's sample will hopefully reflect some differences between the two sites also because it is supposed to rain Wednesday night. Hopefully it does! We feel that we are progressing with our project exactly as we should be. The Renwich article that was provided for us will be an excellent resource. Specifically in his article, he deals with agricultural land use and sediments within 4MC. There are also many maps in there that will be useful. We plan to go to the library to look for literature sources this week, along with our sampling on Thursday morning. We need to now start thinking about how we want to present our project to the class in a creative, educational way.
