Arenal Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. We had the awesome privilege of visiting Arenal in the summer, 2003 during the day and night. Arenal had been very active during the day (lots of growling and rumbling and and steam cloud that was about 3-4X taller than the volcano itself). The nighttime show was nothing short of spectacular!
