Response to Debbie (accidently submitted to Saundra's)

I accidently first submitted these comments on Saundra's "InquiryBased learning" Oops!

We know students like to have some idea of what is expected by their teacher. And I think sometimes "Inquiry" does not seem appealing because of concerns about discipline and a fear that students work/learning will not be assessable. By using your three step method - students will feel a pattern to learning, yet also be able to investigate/question and
problem solve, and assessable product ot being produced.

Here is a thought to consider: When I substitute taught, I found too many worksheets used "because of a substitute"... Your lesson format could even be made use of if you had to rely on a sub for a day or two.... Students would already have a clear idea of what is expected and the "lesson pattern".
