I was wondering in your "Question of the Day" if you always provide the question for the class or do you let the children come up with their own question? There will be time s when your questions must rule supreme of course. But occasionally, you might consider......
I recommend, if you are not already doing so, that you encourage the class to decide on a question that they'd like to focus on. You can "guide" them along the way to their question selection. You can restrict their question to a certain type, topic, or subject area that meets your teaching objectives.
The point is that the "Question of the Day" can become their question. Ownership is important! They will see that their ideas, thoughts and voices are taken seriously!
